A Review: On Mobility Prediction for Wireless Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Rapid mobile networking growth and network applications diversity led to the need for future generation wireless networks to support a wide range of Quality-ofService (QoS). Next generation networks of 4G and beyond aim to ensure that seamless mobility across heterogeneous networks and support to real-time multimedia services. This needs intra and inter-domain handovers/service reconfiguration procedures which have to be completed with minimum latency. Mobility Prediction is a key to this goal. Increased interaction between mobile users and networks require mobility prediction schemes to be used in next generation networks so that they are capable of high prediction accuracy in spite of user movement being random. This work presents a survey on mobility prediction schemes proposed for wireless networks. Keywords—Mobility Prediction, Quality-of-Service (QoS), Seamless mobility, Wireless Networks

متن کاملTarget Tracking Based on Virtual Grid in Wireless Sensor Networks
One of the most important and typical application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is target tracking. Although target tracking, can provide benefits for large-scale WSNs and organize them into clusters but tracking a moving target in cluster-based WSNs suffers a boundary problem. The main goal of this paper was to introduce an efficient and novel mobility management protocol namely Target Tr...

A Wireless Sensor Network consists of several tiny devices which have the capability to sense and compute the environmental phenomenon. These sensor nodes are deployed in remote areas without any physical protections. A Wireless Sensor Network can have various types of anomalies due to some random deployment of nodes, obstruction and physical destructions. These anomalies can diminish the sensi...

متن کاملHandover Optimization with User Mobility Prediction for Femtocell-based Wireless Networks
Prediction of user mobility can assist resource and mobility management of wireless and mobile networks by optimizing handover execution, resource utilization, and so on. There have been extensive studies on mobility prediction for handovers between macrocells but little work for femtocellbased networks yet due to their complicated characteristics. This paper proposes handover optimization meth...
